Your Emails, Now Organized and Drafted

Starting today, Abacor works in your inbox. Now, all your client emails, meeting notes, and phone calls, live in one place. Your inbox gets organized around the way accountants actually work, and the replies you owe people arrive already drafted.

The idea is simple. Client relationships don't happen only in meetings. They happen in the thread where a client asks what the K-1 means, in the engagement letter waiting on a signature, in the bank statement that finally shows up three days after you chased it. Until now, half your client context lived in Abacor and half lived in a scrolling list of 400 unread messages. Now it lives together.

Your email and your meetings, in one client record

Once your inbox is connected, Abacor imports your email and files it against the right client using the same contact graph that already powers your meeting records. Open a client in Abacor and you see the whole relationship: every meeting, every action item, and now every email thread.

That also changes what you can ask. Ask Abacor now searches across meetings and email together, so the answer doesn't depend on remembering which system the conversation happened in.

  • "What did we tell the Wolff family about their estimated payments, and did I ever send the schedule?"
  • "Has Henderson sent through the payroll reports I asked for on the call last week?"
  • "Everything outstanding with Marquez, meetings and email, before I ring them this afternoon."

The last one matters most. A reply written with the meeting in context is a different quality of reply than one written from the email thread alone.

Five labels, built for an accounting firm

Generic email tools sort mail by who sent it. That falls apart in a firm, where an automated message can be the most urgent thing in your inbox and a real person writing to you personally can be a cold pitch. Abacor sorts by what you have to do next.

To Respond. Someone is waiting on you, and a draft is already there. Abacor writes it in your tone and voice, using context from prior emails and meetings captured in Abacor. That covers a client question on treatment or numbers, a partner’s review comments, or a scanned tax notice forwarded with no comment at all. That last one is the easiest to miss and the most expensive. A question buried in the last line of a thank-you note still counts.

Awaiting Reply. Emails where you’re waiting on someone else. Abacor tracks them and drafts a nudge when it’s time to follow up.

  • Out-of-office replies don’t count as a response. If there’s a return date, Abacor schedules your nudge for just after it.
  • “I’ll get to this next week” pushes the follow-up back but keeps the thread open.
  • Partial replies stay open. If a client sends three of eight documents, the thread stays here until you have all eight.

FYI. Updates that need no action. A colleague filed a return, you’re copied on a client’s thread with their attorney, a signed packet comes back. Read these when you have time.

Notifications. Automated emails from your firm’s tools, like filing acknowledgments, calendar responses, portal uploads and CPE reminders. Reminders for things you’ve already done are hidden.

Marketing. Sales emails, newsletters and webinar invites, including cold pitches written to look like personal mail. If an unknown sender is selling something, it goes here, even with no unsubscribe link. Emails about your account go to Notifications. Emails sent to a list go here.

Drafts that sound like you

For everything in To Respond, Abacor writes the draft. Not a generic template, but a reply built from the client's history: what you discussed in the last meeting, what you committed to, what's still open, and how you write to that particular client.

Nothing sends on its own. Drafts sit in your inbox waiting for you to read, edit, and hit send. Abacor does the reconstruction work of pulling the context together. You keep the judgment about what to say.

Why we built this

The hard part about client work has never been the client work. It's everything around it. On average, an accountant spends 50 minutes preparing for and following up on every client meeting, and the inbox is where a lot of that time quietly goes: rereading a thread to remember where things landed, retyping context a client already gave you, chasing a document that arrived two days ago and got buried.

Meeting admin was the first place we went after. Email is the other half of the same problem, and it's the half that never stops arriving.

Getting started

Connect your inbox in Abacor under Settings, then Integrations. Labeling begins immediately and drafts start appearing as new mail arrives. Your existing permissions carry through, and Abacor only ever sees what you can see.

If you're not yet using Abacor, this is your chance to find out what your day looks like when the inbox sorts itself and the replies are already written. Schedule a demo today and we will get you started immediately.

We're excited to see what you do with the time back.
